MOMMYHOODTara LawlerComment

Hip, hip, hooray, Friday is here and episode five of The Model Mama show is now live. Get your party hats on, Mamas! This week’s FEATURE FRIDAY Mama is truly incredible and oh-so inspiring. Pamelyn Rocco is known for bringing the FUN. She’s the Founder and Creative Director of her event planning and styling company called Bashery and Co. This beautiful mama to two blonde girls has been an event planner extraordinaire for twenty plus years. After the birth of her first daughter, she stopped everything and left a position that required her to travel cross-country once a week. Two years later, while pregnant with her second daughter, Pamelyn was searching for a creative outlet and her next endeavor. Her search led her to create Bashery and Co. - a venture that oftentimes allows her to include her girls into her busy schedule.

Some of my FAVORITE takeaways from Pamelyn…

+Create the best option and career for yourself

With starting Bashery and Co., it gave me a balance… I didn’t have to go into work. And I was able to pick and choose which parties I wanted to work on or which photoshoots I wanted to style. I’m very grateful for that bc I know all moms don’t have that choice.

+ Don’t try to do everything in one day. Designate different days for different things.

On balance – I take it one day at a time. I know I’m not going to be the best at all aspects of everything every single day…I pick 2-3 things to focus on in a day instead of trying to do it all.
— Pamelyn

+ Creativity is the greatest gift for our children.

Ultimately, you just want your kids to be creative. Don’t try to be too planned about it. Don’t try to be too in charge. I just put the materials down and let them explore…The greatest gift to give our children is the gift of creativity and the ability to explore new things on their own.
— Pamelyn

+Dancing fixes everything!

Dancing is so fun, so easy. I use it if they’re about to go crazy… I feel like being silly and dancing just takes away the crazy… When I put that music on, it instantly changes the mood and stops the craziness from happening

+ Continue to Manifest your life even after you’ve had kids

It’s just dreaming and believing in those dreams. Take the time to write down those dreams, so that you’re seeing them regularly. This makes you actively work towards those goals so that they come true.
— Pamelyn

+ Use your voice and platform to give back

I knew I wanted to give back in some way. I created The Bashery Project, where we gift a special child a celebration. Maybe I can’t take away what their troubles are, but I can give them a day of joy.
